skynet600 33 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) Hello, I have a DS918+ running 6.2.3-25426 update 2 with emby server on 4.5.2.0. Within the local network I can play my content but I have noticed I can’t access the emby install folder. It isn’t even listed in the file station. Using explorer on a win10 machine I can see a shared folder. If I try to access it I am asked for credentials which I don’t know. I can see and access all other shared folders so I assume there is some admin credential needed here? I have emby set for no login on local network. edit: just to be complete here I have also tried my emby connect and local user credentials without success is there an admin user I am not familiar with? I haven’t found as much on my searching through other cases. Thanks, Russ. Edited November 13, 2020 by skynet600
skynet600 33 Posted November 13, 2020 Author Posted November 13, 2020 Schoolboy error! Checked permissions of the share and found the local emby user had no access rights. Also found advanced settings disabled which is why it wasn’t in file station. Still interested to know if there are credentials I should know but in terms of folder access please consider this closed.
Luke 42078 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Hi, out of the box the emby user needs only read access, but if you enable any features to save metadata to media folders then it will also need write access. Thanks for the feedback.
