Where are "screen grabber" thumbnail files located on Windows and Linux?

Hi.  That depends on your library options.  The screen grabber will just create a primary image for the item.  If you have the option to store those with your media, then it will be there.  Otherwise, it will be in the data directory of the server.

Hi, you can find the location of your Metedata folder used for library that don't have the option "Save artwork into media folders" enabled on the Dashboard page in the path section.  It will be the MetaData path.

If thumbnails are stored in metadata folder and a piece of media is deleted, will the thumbnails be purged automatically  as well?

Yes they will be removed.
