And this is an audio book library?

may you tell your folder structure? Did you change any library settings when creating the library?

there has to be a difference between our test setups.

Audiobook library (default no changes) folder C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\AudioBooks

Added \YouTube Audio to Library containing the two tracks

okay figured it out, as long as you only use "refresh metadata" the problem does not occur. You need to "scan library"

@Happy2Play

- Grab the folder I provided and add them to an audio books library -> all good

- Change the album artist tag of the files in mp3tag to album artist 3

- Do a ibrary scan in emby -> all good

- Change the album artist tag of the files in mp3tag back to album artist 2

- Do a library scan in emby -> Album Artist disappeared from Emby

edit: refreshing metadata afterwards does not bring the aa back

Sorry I still can not reproduce with these steps.  For me AA is changed and shown.

@Luke is this new as I thought tag changes were only seen when Refreshed or removed and re-added?

Ok - this is a version of DB issue (not the first and probably wont be the last)

i made a new db with 4.6.0.5 and now i cant reproduce the issue - i get the same result as H2P

So Luke fixed or changed something he did not document (not the first or the last time) in the last month or so - that causes this problem with a very slightly older db and before potentially

Deleting the AB library might give you the same result - but you would have to test that

no folks that can't be it. As I said, I can reproduce with a NEW installation on windows (Emby Server 4.6.0.5)

Reproduce what exactly?

okay took me longer this time to get the expected result, it feels so random lol. But this issue is definitely still present with current beta.
You can see at 3:40 that I was driving crazy because the info was still there. But "luckily" after the final steps I got what I wanted... Please belive me that I did NOT remove the tag from the files lol. I just changed it to "Album Artist 2" again.

Changing the album artist tag with mp3tag from value a to value b, back to value a with library scans / refreshing metadata in between (see video) leads somewhen to a missing album artist in Emby.. I am stuck with a missing album artist info in my productive emby server. Removing the album from emby does not help, removing and readding the whole audio book library does not help...

i am not seeing the lost AA at all now - using mp3tag to change the tag details back and forth - no issue as i had before

there must be some step we are missing or you alone are doing to cause this
