Happy2Play 9785 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 (edited) What is the proper way to get people images form TMDB instead of TVDB? Do we make the TMDB the first metadata provider on the TV Show content type library? But then there will be a difference in cast and crew as each site are not identical. Primary issue is character vs real person image. Ideally we should have a people provider order. Edited November 2, 2020 by Happy2Play
Luke 42086 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Yes you have to pick tmdb first. The series data includes the cast list along with the image for each one. This way we get the names and images all at once with the series, movie, etc.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted November 2, 2020 Author Posted November 2, 2020 This can be problematic. Multiple tests TVDB only metadata TMDB only metadata, only one regular cast in metadata.
rodainas 191 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Does the schedule task “refresh people” refresh actors metadata (including images) according to the metadata setting on each library? Because if not It would be nice to include a way to refresh actors metadata (images included) separately from the rest of the metadata (movies, tv shows). For example I already have tv shows scrapped from local nfos and images within my media folders, and already have people scrapped as characters from tvdb, using the library contextual menu Refresh Metadata, Replace all Metadata, with the idea to change people scraped from tvdb to tmdb, would replace the rest of tvshows metadata (unnecesry, not desired).
