LiveTV does not play in browser, Samsung TV widget, anywhere

Hi, guys!

This worked previously (years ago). I was using TVHeadend plugin at that time. Now, I switched to m3u playlist hoping, that this will resolve the problem, but it has not.

What it shows: the circle is moving, but no image is ever shown.
Browser: Chromium 83.0.4103.116 (same was on previous versions)
Emby Server 4.4.2.0 (Emby Web 4.4.2.0): (but it did not work on previous versions too)

Logs are attached.

Please help.

Thanks.
Andriy

In fact, it's trying to show the stream as I can see a growing TS file in /var/lib/emby/transcoding-temp/. But, the browser is not able to show the stream for some reason.
By the way, that file never stops growing and a restart of the server is needed.

Also, I found, that it works in Firefox...

Hi, are you able to update to Emby Server 4.5.2?

Posted (edited)

I did. But, it did not help. Same.

Should I attach new logs?

Ok, as a test, if you lower the in-app quality setting to force a full transcode, does it play then?

Yes, it works. I set it to 720p - 1 Mbps.

Hi, @Luke!

So, is this a solution - to lower the in-app quality?

Let me now describe the issues on old Samsung Smart TV with Emby widget (2.2.8 Europe 20200918):

1. CONNECTION ERROR

Most often it gives the connection error:

2. Plays a little and then stops

But, sometimes it plays fine for a while (around 10 seconds) and then just stops by itself.

All logs are attached.
First, it tried to play for 10 seconds (I think, I ran this 3 times).
Then, it gave the connection error (also tried 3 times, I believe).

Thanks.
Andriy

Ok so this is the old community app that you're playing with. What model Samsung do you have?

Posted

Hi, @Luke!

It's Samsung UE22H5600AK.

By the way, the widget (app) has own logs. This is what's there, when it gives CONNECTION ERROR:

This is a 2014 unit, is that correct? @FrostByte do you know if he can use the Orsay app?

Can you try the beta server? It has a fix for playback stopping early on some older devices, so it might have an impact here. Thanks.

I can't. It's giving CONNECTION ERROR all the time now.

They are here.
Last three attempts gave CONNECTION ERROR.

Does your device support the Orsay app? You can use that instead of this old community app. You'd have to change the region on your Samsung to USA and then you can install our app from the store.

The name of the app is Orsay? Ok, I'll try.

Orsay means the classification of Samsung TV devices. Based on the year of your model it might be an Orsay device.

Unfortunately Samsung is no longer accepting submissions for models that old, so we can't update the app anymore, but it's still something to try as it was built by us.
