kferrone 0 Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 I'm using the Emby Docker Image and I have deployed to a rpi k3s cluster. I would like to have automatic failover if a node goes down. At the moment this will not happen. Reason being, /config dir is currently using HostPath Volume. Is it possible or even functional to put the /config dir on NFS? I'll give it a shot anyway to see what happens. The goal is redundancy and scalability. Also I am very curious how it can be possible to have more than one instance of Emby? I have not seen any mention of an Emby cluster anywhere.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Emby being a "Personal Media Server" isn't really designed for running in cluster or load balancing environments. You can handle redundancy easy by keeping a "copy" of your main system on another computer but scalability isn't as easy. A modern computer, fast HDDs and a GPU scales beyond what's needed for a personal media server.
Luke 42077 Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 It's a feature that we're interested in for the future though. Thanks.
