When Emby records live TV, does it have the ability to:

1) remove commercials?

2) convert the file to a different format?

What is the default video format that it records to?

@justinrh I just started a pretty good sized post about this a few days ago. But the short version is not directly. You can set up a program like MCEBuddy to use ComSkip to delete the commercials. I believe it defaults to a .TS file extension. MCEBuddy can convert it to a lot of different extensions immediately after recording, so almost a seamless instance.

Thanks @sross44 .  I use MCEBuddy already.  I was hoping Emby had commercial skipping built-in, like Plex does.  I guess if I have to convert, might as well strip the commercials at the same time.

I hear you... I wish it did too! It’s one of the few things I prefer from Plex. But other than that, I absolutely love Emby.
