It kicked in on my ATV today.ย  I exited Emby and when reloading the app it switched to the holiday theme.

Uh no, please....some stores start having Christmas stuff in late July early August.

I just updated the server on my Synology to the last version but still no Halloween theme here and I didn't see any holiday themes on my LG TV last year.
I remember seeing it in 2018 and loved it though!
@Luke should the theme be visible in all apps and the web interface or has it been removed from some?

If it doesn't kick off automatically then you should be able to make it your theme in settings.ย  I had to do that on my Samsung.

It's only the 29th.

So the Christmas period doesn't start until 25th Decemberย ๐Ÿค”

Historically, yes.ย  And even in my childhood it was nothing like now - we'd put up the tree on Christmas Eve, for instance, and take it down on Twelfth Night (more recently I've seen people throwing out their trees on Christmas Eve as over and done with!).

My wife wanted to watch Last Christmas yesterday.ย  I said "No,ย it's too early"ย  when I really wanted to say "How about after I die?" but didn't

That is the one good thing about the pandemic here in rural Tennessee. I almost never visit stores and, when I do go, the crowds are so sparse that many of the stores have not bothered to have any in store music. I might actually enjoy this Christmas season for the first time in over twenty years.

I sense a new feature/request - can we ban/hide certain films to only be played duringย certain seasons ?ย ย ๐Ÿ˜€

Since these are always issues every holiday.ย  Can we document the dates the themes will automatically be active.

Sure you can.ย  Do what I do.ย  I've got 400+ Christmas movies in their own library.ย  This way I can give or take access away. :)

Not automated but you have library access or tags to do this, depending on your setup.

Either way works but using tags is probably better as you don't need a separate library that way.

For Christmas movies you could actually hide them if you wanted most of the year but activate them a couple week before/after the holiday and even make them the only movies available on that day if you wanted.
