Emby API Scanning too broadly

Hi, I'm trying to develop a notify handler for an rclone mount that feeds new directories to Emby for scan.

 

I'm using the `/Library/Media/Updated` endpoint with JSON payload of

            "Path": new_file,

    ]
}

What I'm noticing is that if I provide new_file as "/mnt/media/Movies/Example Movie/movie.mp4", the entire Library under "/mnt/media/Movies" gets scanned.  I believe this is a bug, unless maybe I'm using the endpoint wrong.

If it is a bug/unimplemented feature, how hard would it be to implement the Real Time Monitoring (inotify) pathway into an endpoint?  To my knowledge, the RTM does not scan the entire Library but just the folder.

Hi, no, that's currently the way our scanning works because new content additions and removals also need to update data in the parent folder. It's something we can look at improving in future updates. thanks.
