Dupes in Continue Watching

Is it normal for all versions (1080/4k) of a movie to show up in continue watching, when you stop watch a movie halfway through?

I was watching a 4k Star Wars movie yesterday and didn't finish. But now in my continue watching all versions of that movie show up in continue watching taking up space across the screen.

Or do I have a setting set wrong somewhere?

If you have your versioned item in separate libraries this is normal as Emby tracks this userdata by provider ids (IMDB, TMDB, TVDB).  So you will see each version in Continue watching.

Now if you used Emby's multi-version structure/naming or Automatic Grouping plugin you will not see this behavior.

They are in the same folder like this.

So that plugin should fix it for me correct?

I'll give it a look. Thanks :)

That is not the supported auto multi-version grouping naming scheme.

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming

Multiple versions of the same content can be stored in a single movie folder.

/Movies
  /300 (2006)
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 1080p.mkv
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 1080p-trailer.mp4
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 4K.mkv
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 720p.mp4
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - extended edition.mp4
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - directors cut.mp4
  /300 (2006)/300 (2006) - 3D.hsbs.mp4
Each version must begin with the folder name, followed by " - ".

But yes the plugin will allow you to maintain your naming scheme.

Ah yep. I checked a couple. Was looking pretty good. But found a couple without a version name on a single file, but one did so I knew which was which. Even still, that's way better and if I find any that are not clear I'll fix em up.

Thanks heaps for that.

Oh wow. And it works on the phone app too. Amazing. :)
