It is, yes, but you're not using that on your Android TV devices are you.

no i am playing the video on my phone with headphones plugged in.

playing band of brothers on the screen and headphone socket that the Samsung mobile phone provides with the official Emby app on it  

so why cannot test on that?

becouse if this device is playing 5.1 audio there is something wrong

i know but i honestly don't think the device is the problem why is my mobile phone treated differently to my android TV. The problem i have is the exact same on both. 

you asked me to do a test. i will rephrase my problem then. when i use the android mobile app the sound it plays is not correct for the audio device i have plugged in.

i have attached the logs from my server of the Video i was playing at the time

Try the latest beta version of the MOBILE app, v3.1.47.

Stop with the deflection posts - not doing whats asked - by somebody taking their own time to try and help you - ukhuluma ubukhazikhazi

For clarity so you can understand we need consistent test results to try different things on one platform ATV - i know this is beyond you as you have the diagnostic skills of a knatt.

If you dont help us - then nobody will want to help you - it's too painful and frustrating.

You're not following the instructions as has been posted several times in this thread.

Until you do, no-one is going to help you to help yourself.

the test i did at 10.28 is play band of brothers on my mobile app. my mobile app is the software i downloaded. the logs you showed me showing it works is from a completely different time and completely different device. (that proves nothing, thats what a solutions architect knows)

so i have done a test an gave you the logs as you have asked so at 10:28 when i played band of brothersthe mobile has played 5.1 audio. the devices is not 5.1 

does the logs show that this aduio was encoded to 2.1 audio?

Can't see the log for the Mobile Device and Band of Brothers from this morning.

The only log dated today (20/10) was for a Live TV stream.

Perhaps you can check your side and post just that one log please.

You watched "Apocalypse.Now.1979.Final.Cut" on 17th via the Android Mobile app (old version).

The server converted the video and audio.

ok same test aremby.7zound 11:54 the internal IP of the device is 192.168.150.54

No, the ffmpeg file (in the same folder) related to the playback.

mate honest i cant find anything in the logs for that time stamp except for in the logs i provided. i don't have anything else playing while doing these tests
