server freezing and high transcodes

hi my emby server has been fine for months and the last few days ive been get high transcodes which is shooting my cpu up causing 25% transcodes each.ive also notice when looking at the server dashboard whilst people are watching stuff is that it freezes for about 30 seconds,which causes the client end to stutter or buff or freeze.i tinkered with the transcode settings and the network setting and ive not seen a change.like a said at the begging theres been no issues for months.all my content is converted to mkv or mp4,im not sure of what to do thankyou

for 8 months its been spot on no problems not had to really touch it its runs its self its just the last coulpe of days.currently running.

intel xeon  X5660 12 core,2.8ghz and 48gb ram.

i have good internet speed also.

my servers only about 11 months old and i bought it ne,all my drives are brand new also.

Is this not another case of Remote client Auto setting being conservative?

The directstream log shows the same but do to options disabled it override Auto and streams the media.

If you change the client from Auto quality to something higher are you seeing the same issue?

there about 4 high transcodes out of 45-50 users at anyone time.hes using nvideia shield hes been changing the birate and still getting stuttering.

he said he does change the qaulity and still gets buffing

Is 4 simultaneous transcodes just pushing the shield too hard?
