PVR functionality of the Emby for Kodi plugin

I was wondering about the PVR functionality of the Emby for Kodi plugin, and specifically how well it integrates with Kodi’s own live tv functions.

Currently I use NextPVR as a common backend for both Emby and Kodi, as seen in attached diagram below:

With the NextPVR plugin for Kodi not supporting NPVR v5 and the plugin that was under development being discontinued.  I’d prefer to find a solution that involves cutting NextPVR out of the loop, and using Emby to handle the PVR aspects.

So my question is, is it possible to use Emby as a PVR plugin for Kodi, which would allow me to remove NextPVR from my setup entirely.  Or should I just hold out for a new NextPVR plugin that supports V5?

It's on the feature list for 5.0.0 but not as priority.

IPTV Simple Client already can handle Emby if you have a m3u list with your channels. Even EPG ist working with modifications.
