Are you running any virus, malware software or VPN?

If so turn them all off and try again to see if they are the source of the problem.

i still dont understand how u cannot update the server from the GUI and also this install problems  over and over again ..

This is the second time i have problems , when trying to update the server ?

Why is that ?Did anybody find in the world wide web a software that cannot be updated online ? because i didn't ..

Why this "bug " is not fixed already ? this is a paid software , there is no code review or debugging ?

Please someone enlighten me ....

Hi.  More than likely this is some sort of local network configuration or anti-malware issue.

But, also, be sure you are downloading a current copy of the server setup program from our website and not trying to run some old version downloaded previously.

Hi,

im downloading  from your site :

https://emby.media/windows-server.html

no network issue ..check that already ,in the  windows events u can see that the problem is in the app ..please take a look

Hi, Your log is showing a windows crash in C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll

That looks to be cause in System.Windows.Markup.XamlParse error which often indicates something is stopping the transmission of data.

I'd check firewalls, AV, malware on the computer as well as any similar features that may be running on your router itself.

If you can't figure this out I could take a look remotely with you to see if there is anything obvious besides a faulty windows installation or corruption causing windows kernel failure.

What was the solution?

Let Carlo remote in. :)

I believe there are a few things going on that could have corrupted the install and the download blocking.  Most likely a browser extension as there were a couple, plus kaspera and VPN installed (not being used).

We also set him up with instructions to manually upgrade himself using the system folder in the portable version as a backup.
