BorgSquared 2 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) I recently had to re-do my library by changing the network paths. However, this messed up my folder-sync downloads. It is starting to re-convert the videos even though they still exist in the conversion target. Is it possible to have it re-discover the existing converted videos? Edit: It is showing mp4 conversions as "downloaded", but mkv files (the majority) as "queued." Edited October 9, 2020 by BorgSquared
Luke 42083 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hi, it was designed so that it should, although it hasn't been heavily tested. Try deleting the sync jobs. It should still be able to use the existing files.
BorgSquared 2 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 (edited) I removed the "movies" downloads job. I then re-added the downloads job but it now shows even the mp4 as having to convert. However, if I look at the actual video it shows the folder-sync video for mp4s. It does not show up for mkv target videos that converted to (smaller) mkv. Edit: Now it shows the mp4 videos as "downloaded." Mkv videos still show as "queued." Edited October 11, 2020 by BorgSquared
BorgSquared 2 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 It could be a bug. It doesn't seem to be supposed to do this.
BorgSquared 2 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 It is not supposed to reconvert the videos that are stored in the folder-sync. It seems to ignore the mkv videos that have already been converted. It only sees the mp4 files. Perhaps the function that scans for existing files doesn't look for .mkv.
Luke 42083 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Well you've moved the files, and although I've said that it should work, it hasn't been heavily tested. At the very least you'll need to go through your folder sync configuration and make sure that all of the folder paths are fixed up to the new location.
BorgSquared 2 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 They are. The mp4 videos are in the same location as the mkv. The only thing that makes them different is the source video, some were mkv so they converted to mkv.
BorgSquared 2 Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 I ended up switching to a docker container and had to reconvert everything again. Same issue though, it wouldn't import existing "downloads".

BorgSquared 2 Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) When you use folder sync and create a sync job targeting that directory. It should check the target and look to see if the target file already exists. If it does, skip it (don't convert with ffmpeg) and import it into the library. It seems to work with mp4 files but not mkv. Just having a video in a folder-sync directory doesn't show up in the library. There has to be a "convert" job for it to show up. Luke 42083 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Quote Just having a video in a folder-sync directory doesn't show up in the library. What exactly do you mean by show up in the library? Folder synced content is not library content so it doesn't show up in library browsing anyway.
BorgSquared 2 Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 It shows up in the version selection for the media details page. I have an "HD" folder sync so it shows up as HD in version selection after conversion.
