CaptJ 0 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Hi Had a drive with the portal install of Emby 4.3 running. Had to return the disk as it was faulty. Was unable to erase its contents because of its hardware fault. Other than library contents and my username what sort personal data does Emby log/ store. Would it have logged connected IP addresses (even though I had it setup for local network only)? Any other identifiable data? I have changed server login details just in case. Thanks for your help
CaptJ 0 Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 I also assume the licence key is encrypted so isn't visible without a valid login?
CaptJ 0 Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 (edited) Is there anything else i should change? Edited October 8, 2020 by CaptJ
Carlo 4561 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Hi, If you had to return the disc as it wasn't functioning correctly, it's highly doubtful anyone is going to go looking at your Emby config or databases assuming they can even access them. You CAN see usernames in the database but passwords are encrypted. You can see IP addresses in activity db but if they're local (LAN) then it doesn't matter. If you're like the rest of you likely created usernames with first names which aren't going to mean much.

No, this is not obscured but we will be able to tell if someone starts abusing it. As Cayars said, I think this is probably extremely unlikely. Thanks. 1
