ItangoII 0 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 Forced and upgrade of mono and now jail says 6.8. Jail was restarted and Emby web. Is there a way from inside the web interface to confirm that it is running on 6.8? Thanks
Luke 42078 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 The mono version will be printed near the top of the server log.
ItangoII 0 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 Seems to have installed OK, but still no subtitles. Does Emby store the fetched list locally? or just display it? In the jail that is. Though I think I'm reaching there for a possible local write issue. 2020-10-11 09:18:57.569 Info Main: Emby Command line: /usr/local/lib/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.exe -os freebsd -ffdetect /usr/local/lib/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /usr/local/lib/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /usr/local/lib/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -programdata /var/db/emby-server -updatepackage emby-server-freebsd11_{version}_amd64.txz Operating system: Unix 11.3.14.0 Framework: Mono: 6.8.0.96 (6.8.0.96 Thu May 21 13:31:54 UTC 2020) OS/Process: X64/X64 Runtime: usr/local/lib/mono/4.5/mscorlib.dll Processor count: 8 Data path: /var/db/emby-server Application path: /usr/local/lib/emby-server/system 2020-10-11 09:18:57.602 Info App: Application version: 4.5.2.0
Luke 42078 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 No, it's downloaded and sent back to the caller for display. It's not stored anywhere.
ItangoII 0 Posted October 11, 2020 Author Posted October 11, 2020 Just now, Luke said: No, it's downloaded and sent back to the caller for display. It's not stored anywhere. That's what I figured, just reaching. Anything more I can do to help on this end?

I have not had much time to spend on it, but your message inspired me to take another look. I ent through the settings for both the Windows machine and the Freenas one side by side and they were identical. As I mentioned the Windows box was working fine, but nothing on the Freenas one. So I checked with the Win machine to see if opensubtitles was character sensative on the login name and it was not. Si I changed my password on the opensubtitles account and on both local Emby servers and it worked. Thanks for the nudge Luke. If I could suggest, a test button on the opensubtitles account page in Emby. All it would need to do is attempt to fetch a known show that would have subtitles (say Star Wars or something) and report back to the user success or not. Or, if opensubtitles has an API maybe see if it reports login failure and report to the user. Since the password field is blanked, it's not something that's in your face to see an error. Just a thought. Thanks for your help on this!
Luke 42078 Posted October 20, 2020 Posted October 20, 2020 That's interesting, thanks for the feedback. And yes that's a good idea.

Yea, it might be feasible to just hard code the particular subtitle download (hence my suggestion of something like star wars) that way the code was simple and the user didn't have to feed in a test show/movie. The idea being to test the account info primarily. If the community is interested and I can find the time I could post a message on installing to Freenas. The biggest issue of course being media and permissions access to data outside of a jail where Emby resides. There is a plugin but Freenas users suggest keeping things in a jail, hence a manual install. Best regards.
