ItangoII 0 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I've checked and double checked settings, open subtitles is finding such for other shows, but not for Warrior Nun. I checked on open subtitles, and season 1 is available. I've also checked the settings for that particular show. I can find nothing wrong. I'm not sure where to check for log info on the connection attempt which is where I would usually go next. Thanks
rbjtech 5284 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Have you got 'Hash match' selected - if yes, then it may be that this is not a hash match, thus it is not selecting it for you. Untick that option - but as a result the subs may not be in sync.

I also double checked the availability on Open Subtitles, and tried switching to another language (having verified that Italian was also there) and same result. Edited October 7, 2020 by ItangoII

Just totally crashed on me. Edit: Just got back in and tried another series "The Alienist" after confirming english subtitles were available. Same result Edited October 7, 2020 by ItangoII
Luke 42078 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Maybe you're having some sort of communication failure with opensubtitles. Please attach the emby server log. thanks.

As per message 1 that is usually where I would go next but not sure where Emby would have it's log files for connection info unless that info is contained ( along with everything else) in a single file. I'll look again now.

ItangoII 0 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 Thank you, log file is attached. I'm assuming you wanted the "server log" as there are many. embyserver.txt
ItangoII 0 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 I copied a show over to my Win 10 box and it had no problem finding subtitles on a same show where my main server would not.. So, I would have to think its a FreeBSD issue. It will take someone with better ability than me to sort it out of the log file above. Thanks for any help, I'm hard of hearing so the subtitles are important to me.
Luke 42078 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Any reason you're sitting on an old beta build?
ItangoII 0 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 In roaming around these last couple hours I noticed in the dashboard an update was available and finished that a few minutes ago. Version in Freenas/Emby now showing 4.5.2.0. Emby does not auto update in Freenas so have to do it manually now and then when I notice.
Luke 42078 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Ok yes that is true. Once you have 4.5.2 please let us know if you're still running into this. Thanks.

Yes I am. And thanks for the help! I bumped into one of your posts to another person indicating that Emby would need write access to the medias directory in order to place the file. Perusing that, I have confirmed the Emby does have write access. However, I also realized Emby is not getting that far. Meaning it would fetch a list from Opensubtitles first allowing to user to choose which one to download, and that is what's not happening. I've gone over the few tutorials for setting up subtitles, and double checked them. All seems to be in order.
ItangoII 0 Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 If it will help I've attached the server log after clearing it and then doing a subtitle search with a show. embyserver.txt
Luke 42078 Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Are you able to get subtitles for other shows?

I just tried 6 random shows, and 12 random episodes and nothing. Windows version works fine. Edited October 10, 2020 by ItangoII

The VPN is on the router, and the first places I go on an issue like this is the log file for the app, and firewalls, vpn, virus, malware filters and such. I tested Emby with the vpn off a week ago (and just now)and same result. I've double checked settings against the windows box and all is the same.
Luke 42078 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Hmm. It could be an issue in the mono runtime them. I'm not sure at this point what's going on, but will try to chase it down.

I was tempted to ask you that before, as at least two (sonarr and radarr) have had issues with mono (can't count the hours I put into them). unfortunately the package for mono has not been updated for some time. A new jail gets 5.10. 5.20 was needed for the mentioned apps, and current release is somewhere up to 6.8. Finding info on upgrading the jail your app was in to mono 5.2 was sketchy and prone to failure with people saying Scre%&^&$ it and going to 6.8. To your knowledge would upgrading the jail to mono 6.8 do any harm to Emby? Thanks

Generally speaking it should be OK as we use the latest version on some Synology and QNAP models, but of course, there could be FreeBSD-specific problems that we're not yet aware of.
