Emby Premiere Subscription Options

Recommended Posts

As I finished reading Emby Premiere Subscription options, I'd like to ask some questions to make it clear.

I'm now using monthly subscription for $4.99 and I'm planning to purchase "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 devices"

I noticed that I can't purchase "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 devices" directly without having an existing "Yearly subscription" or "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 25 devices"

So the questions are

Is it true that I'd need to pay for both "Yearly subscription ($54)" and "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 devices ($99)" [Total amount=$153] if I really want to purchase "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 devices" ?

And

Do I also need to cancel my monthly subscription first to get "Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 devices" ?

All answers are much appreciated.

I'll let someone else confirm the details about cancelling your monthly subscription, but as far as the Emby Premiere Lifetime pieces go, I believe you're correct based on the current info about premiere that a yearly subscription will get you access to purchase the Emby Premiere Lifetime for 45 Devices upgrade as well.

However, if you're looking to get the 45-device upgrade for lifetime ($99), why not get the first 25-device level of lifetime ($119) now as well rather than just the yearly?  Assuming you're planning on continuing to use Emby for the foreseeable future since you're looking at the lifetime device upgrade, that's the route I would (and did, a few years ago) take.  Just my two cents, for what it's worth.

Hi.  The upgrade you are looking at is designed for someone that already has a Lifetime license and wants to upgrade the devices to 45.  If you need 45 devices, you can either purchase a lifetime and that upgrade, or you can just subscribe to a 45 device plan on a monthly basis.

Yes, you should cancel any previous subscription before starting a different one.

More answers: Emby Premiere

Thanks.

@ebr  Does it mean that I can't upgrade from 1 year subscription for 25 devices($54) to Emby Premiere Lifetime Subscription for 45 devices ($99) ?

Still confused about it.

The way I read the Premiere page (ebr correct me if I'm wrong).

45 License is $11.99 per month

If you already have a Yearly or Lifetime license it would be
45 Licenses for an additional $5.99 per month (on yearly or Lifetime License)

OR

Purchase a Lifetime License for $119 then purchase a lifetime upgrade license to 45 devices for an additional $99 with no monthly payments after that.

So 3 ways of getting an Emby Premiere 45 device license.

Any clearer?  If not tell us what you currently have Premiere wise.

Cancel the 1 year license.  Then start over and Purchase the normal Lifetime Premiere license then upgrade to the 45 device lifetime license.

I'm assuming what started Dannick's confusion is that, on this page - https://emby.media/premiere-ext.html - it says, "These options are only valid with an existing Emby Premiere Lifetime or Yearly key" (emphasis added) and then lists 45 Devices Monthly, 45 Devices Lifetime, and 75 Devices Monthly as options.  That wording does make it seem like a normal yearly subscription would technically allow you to purchase the 45 Devices Lifetime upgrade, which is why I mentioned that it seems like you could interpret it that way.

Perhaps there's a simple way to tweak the language on that page to indicate the intended distinction between upgrade options for yearly vs. lifetime subscriptions?

1. Have a Yearly Subscription? --> Upgrade to either of the "Monthly" options
2. Have a Lifetime Subscription? --> Upgrade to any of the "Lifetime" or "Monthly" options

If this helps the top section is the "all inclusive subscription" that has the base 25 license in the price.
This is a one-payment monthly (or yearly) plan.

The bottom section assumes you have a yearly or lifetime license and are only paying the "difference" in cost of the upgraded license.

Hi.  The $99 45 device upgrade will also work with an annual license.  I understand why this is confusing but this allows people who use the annual license to just keep renewing that and also keep their 45 device upgrade.

That upgrade does NOT turn your annual license into a Lifetime one.  It just upgrades the device count for whichever one of those licenses you currently have.

Does that make sense?

@ebr Okay

So the only way to get Emby Premiere Lifetime Subscription for 45 devices is to upgrade from Emby Premiere Lifetime Subscription for 25 devices.

Am I right?

Depends if you have Emby Premiere right now. 2 Questions:

Do you have an Emby Premiere license already?
Do you want a monthly, yearly or lifetime 45 device license?
