antelopelabs 0 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Ive moved into a new house, and the only difference between my network now and at my old house is the IP address of my server. My server is running, I can connect, view, and play content off of my mobile device and tablet. I downloaded the new Emby Theater app whish is running on the same pc as my server and I can connect, view and play content from my server. However, when I try to go to app.emby.media to access the web interface or on my Roku devices on my TV's, it brings me to the select server screen (my server is there) and I get the error "Connection Failure We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." I have verified all my settings in my router, none of my firewall rules have changed but I have tried this with and without the firewall on and no change in behavior. Any thoughts?
ebr 16195 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Hi. Make sure the WAN and LAN address shown on the dashboard are correct. If you are inside your house, there is no reason to use app.emby.media. You can just use the IP address of your server. But, if you want to make Connect work, first make sure the addresses are correct and then re-link your Connect ID to your user by blanking it and saving and then re-entering it and saving. Let us know how that goes.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Hello. You may also want to run through the diagnostic tests in this KB article if you need/want external access to your Emby server at your new location.https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity

Then you don't want to use Connect probably. There is no benefit to doing that inside your network really. If everything is setup properly, your local server(s) will be automatically discovered by the apps.
speechles 2055 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 (edited) Go to the PC running Emby server. Open a browser using: http://127.0.0.1:8096/web/index.html#!/dashboard When you use the link above what is reported for your LAN access? That is the value you want to use when connecting inside your network. Disregard the WAN access if you never want to connect remotely. Edited October 7, 2020 by speechles 1

It just brings me to this screen, even though the server is setup and working (I can reach it through my mobile). It also does the same thing if I try to go to the specific IP address of the server.
speechles 2055 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 @Luke Can you help here? Something is haywire and I do not know how to find the needle in this hay stack.
Luke 42086 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 @cayars can jump on with him and take a look at what's going on.

Send me a PM and we can set this up. I've got time today if you do or we can schedule this for another day. 1
