RokuGuys 10 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I am having issues playing TrueHD clips in my shield pro. It's transcoded to Dolby(and lose Atmos), the reason being unsupported mpegts container. Plex runs it as trueHD without issues. Is this an Emby limitation?
ebr 16184 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 What happens if you select the option to "Allow Direct Play of TS Files"?
RokuGuys 10 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 I enabled it, now I get Direct Play error as transcode reason.
RokuGuys 10 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Found some other articles mentioning the same issue. Turns out its .m2ts file which is not supported by Emby. That answers the problem.
ebr 16184 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Hi. It should be relatively easy to convert that to an mkv or mp4 that would direct play.

Luke 42079 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Exoplayer has only implemented it for mkv. They must have customized it on their own to work with m2ts, so we'll have to look into that.
rbjtech 5284 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 @RokuGuys If you are familiar with ffmpeg CLI - it's very easy to change the container (you lose no video or audio quality in doing so) ffmpeg -i input.ts -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f matroska output.mkv
Carlo 4561 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Only downside I can think of doing that would be a 3D movie on Samsung TVs as it wants it in an m2ts container to do auto switching. 1
