Why do you want to do that? There's currently no way to do that. You can block users though.

I just want my users to only use real apps and not web browsers

You could setup a reverse proxy and do filtering through that to keep browsers from getting to your Emby Server.

May I ask how you plan to admin your server with browser access?

How is a browser with the Emby web client not "a real app"?

Now if you'd said that browsers can't play your files directly whereas the apps can, so this will avoid your server being loaded with transcoding, then that would have been understandable.

Yes it is also for that.
I use Strm and want my users to do direct playback without transcoding.
there is no problem with devices but with an internet browser it transcodes
