rodainas 191 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 I have some of my TV Shows already scrapped and some have multiple versions (for example dubbed), one with the nfo in english the other with the nfo in spanish the structure is:TV Show (Year)/ Season 1/ TV Show - S01 E01 - Name of episode.mkv TV Show - S01 E01 - Name of episode.nfo TV Show - S01 E01 - Nombre de episodio.mkv TV Show - S01 E01 - Nombre de episodio.nfo Emby understands correctly and list everything unified with a selection of the episode file before playing it, but the thing is that emby seems to choose randomly episode name and plot in random language some in english some in spanish. Is there a way to show every episode in spanish or every episode in english without being mixed like that?
Carlo 4561 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Hi, Try clicking on the 3 dot menu or MORE button for the series itself and edit the metadata. Scroll down toward the bottom and you should be able to set the language. Try refreshing all metadata for that series.

I believe Emby is randomly selecting nfo A or B on import. I believe the real question is at what level is default language applied and read from provided metadata? Do episodes even have a language tag? Currently I would think there currently would need to be separate libraries for this separate language scenario. Could be wrong as i have not done any testing in situations like this.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I've never tested this either but wondering if setting the Meta-Data language at the series level will help. Hope so or what's the option doing there?

Hope so or what's the option doing there? With a quick search, episodes do not have a language tag (at least in my library). Since Emby gets entire Series by language from provider TVDB, but slightly different from TMDB, I do not really see a way to manually feed Emby metadata this way. Only way I can speculate working would be add one language to be fully imported, then add the second language file and nfo.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I've got the feeling however the NFOs will still much things up if they use different languages. This to me is more about media preparation before adding it to Emby.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 To me they need to be separate libraries if they want separate languages to be displayed otherwise only a nfo file in there preferred language. Since Emby will only display one language in a multiversion environment. 1
rodainas 191 Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Thanks for the answers, Agree those are the 2 options, I prefer to group multiple versions together I think is easier to find what you want these way instead of looking into different libraries, so I would be using the nfo in the preferred language.
