simjan 0 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Hi! Chromecast doesnt work anymore with Emby. Am I alone with this problem or is it something you know about? When can we expect a fix? It connects fine but when I try to play something it just keeps loading indefinately. Certs are in place and it has been working nicely earlier. It also works fine with other streaming services, just seems to be Emby thats not working. Regards

Luke 42083 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Hi there @simjan what kind of certificate are you using? You need to be using a certificate that the Chromecast device will trust. If it doesn't trust it, there's no way for us to force it.

simjan 0 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Hi Luke! Thanks, after some more testing i more and more think its somthing with the cert but I cannot really figure out what. It doesnt matter which browser I use or if I use the Emby app on Android from external wan, it just gets stuck on loading the stream. Renewed the cert but no difference. Also updated my TLS options in HAproxy but no change. I also ran a complete ssllabs test on my domain but as far as I can tell everything seems to be ok. The DST Root CA X3 is in the chain as the article mentioned. I will try your suggestion to remove https... and see what happens.
simjan 0 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 Any news on this. I´m seeing others reporting the same issues, ie infinite loading circle... There is nothing more I can think of to try except going back to older version. When I removed https nothing really changed. Same problem remains. Since this started without any changes on my end I do believe it is related to one of the Emby updates. Can I download an older version somewhere? I´d like to try if that works.

But, what is this Chromecast reciever you are talking about? After a second test I noticed Emby doesnt update what I am playing, ie if I played something and then changed it still sticks to the first movie.
