bakes82 167 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 How do I view the scanner logs and whats happening? I press scan files from a library, it says its "scanning" but no indicator, no idea what its doing. At one point on a previous scan I could see other libraries that share the same folder being scanned with a circle percent on it. In plex you can see this in the console logs.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 There are feature requests as there is currently no options in Emby. As for the log you just look at end of the log to see what it is doing. Open the log file directly or via Dashboard-Logs.
DemonI 5 Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Sorry to dig up a 2+ year old topic, but has this feature been added yet? The progress bars for tasks are nice, but it'd be great to be able to see what is currently being scanned at the very least. Having a way to see what was scanned already during the task, what is being scanned currently, and what is left to be scanned would be ideal, in my opinion. EDIT: Replied in the request thread, sorry for digging this one up. Edited February 9, 2023 by DemonI
Luke 42079 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Hi, more improvements to this are planned for future updates. Thanks.
SlimCharles 2 Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Was going to wait a year but figured why not just ask now.... anything to speak on in regards to this? I just made the switch to running emby primarily as my media server (due to how it handles IPTV) but this is one thing that's irritating (having to go into a ssh session to view the log being updated.)

Hi, it's on our to do list to improve. Thanks for the feedback.
