Wheemer 50 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Hello; I am using a different PVR backend and would just like to have a separate recordings folder that does not itegrate with tvshows or movies. I can't seem to figure that out... Thanks Steve
Carlo 4561 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Hi, I'm not sure what you're asking for. If you're using a 3rd party PVR then it's not integrated with Emby. The only way those recordings would show up in Emby is if you included the path of the other PVR recording software into your Emby Libraries.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 I am asking for a media type that would be mixed content but not integrate into the main movies and tvshows. So that I could add separate independent folders. The recordings was just an example.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 Although this is working, it sucks not to have fanart downloaded... Would really be nice to have a different option.
Luke 42078 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Have you explored the metadata settings for your recordings library?
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 I'm using TVheadend and there is no metadata capabilities that seem to work.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 No because I need to use kodi as a frontend. So all I am doing is pointing Emby to the recordings folder.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 So you're not going any recording or watching via Emby?
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 No recording via Emby but I want to watch via Embycon in Kodi.
Luke 42078 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Then you should be able to configure the metadata providers for the recordings library.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 Those are only available when I select TVshows or Movies, which then integrates them into my other libraries.
Luke 42078 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 What did you select, mixed content? It should be available there too.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 Mixed content adds it to the main libraries as well.
Luke 42078 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 What do you mean adds it to the main libraries? Everything is a main library.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 I do not want my recordings showing up in my normal tv shows or movies libraries. They do when I select mixed content. Straight forward.
Luke 42078 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Why do you think they show up in your other libraries? libraries are separate.
Q-Droid 989 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Are you running Emby Premier? You could try in DVR settings the Default Recording Path, Movie Recording Path or Series Recording Path to your current PVR destination. Even if not using Live TV or DVR in Emby the libraries and recording folders might get created, scanned and categorized. It can also create new additional libraries by default though you could remove those and keep your regular ones along with the Recordings. I did something like this recently because I didn't want all of my series and movies media to show up as recordings but do want recordings to show up in those libraries.

I think maybe the OP is talking about the suggestion rows? @Luke is correct. The libraries would remain separate, but things could still be included in Latest, Next Up, etc.

I had done this a few times yet the recordings were showing up in my movies library. However I just tried again and it seems to be working properly. Only problem I see is that Embycon will not show me the recordings folder in libraries. But since I had mapped the shortcut when the folder was assigned as home videos the old shortcut still works. I'm not sure what's going on but it is nice to see the artwork and see them staying separate. However I wonder why my second client can't see the folder when navigating to libraries through Embycon.

Yes am running premier, but it seems like everything is working and perhaps I was previously experiencing an anomaly.

Maybe if this is possibly the situation then my feature request may be appropriate.
Wheemer 50 Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 OK so yeah they are showing up in latest movies widget so the libraries are certainly not kept separate. Also I just reset this libreelec laptop and installed from scratch to ensure no other issues were lingering. So now I am also incapable of adding that "recordings" library as is is merged into movies and/or tvshows instead of remaining a selectable choice in libraries.
Q-Droid 989 Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Still not clear to me what you are trying to do and which interface you're using.
