Question about amount of connections from iptv's

Hi ive always watched iptv with 2 connections but for first time it look like it work with 1 connections were 2 people watching so i was wondering how emby work? Do i need only a connection Does emby take only one connection and duplicate the image?

Hi. This doesn't have anything to do with the source of the live TV but Emby will share streams when possible.  This won't always be possible (like two different qualities required) though.

So buying extras connections is useless with Emby ? Would be good to know because it would save ton with that

No, that is not true.  As I said, it depends on many factors.  Plus, you could only share streams for the exact same channel.

Generally speaking, f multiple people are watching CNN then Emby will try to use 1 tuner only and share the "incoming" stream/tuner with all who are watching it.

If for example you had 3 people watching CBS, 2 people watching NBC and 4 people watching CNN you would have 9 people watching Live TV but Emby would try to only use 3 distinct tuners and would try to share them.  Emby can also share the tuners when recording as well.

You would still need multiple tuners/streams to support people or recordings on different channels.  Basically each distinct channel being used needs a tuner/stream.

Thank you for your help so far, I started up a "test" emby container with access only to my movies folder within unraid, and your plug-in, and I noticed that I no longer see temporary folders in my library. And the theme videos are NOT transcoding like they previously were. 

 

Thank you for your patience, so far looks like another user error! Thank you for the wonderful plug-in, and if I get everything running correctly and stable, I will be purchasing the YouTube trailers as well.
