Unable to open dashboard on server

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Starting today, I can no longer access the server dashboard or just browse my media from my server.  It just loads a black screen with the emby logo on it (see attached).  If I try connecting from my laptop, I can load the server dashboard and view media.  My two primary clients (Apple TV 4Ks) are able to login and playback media.  I've tried reinstalling, restarting Emby and my server, cleared browser cache, tested with multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer), no effect.  According to the dashboard that opens on my laptop, I'm on 4.5.1.0

I'm really confused as to what's happening.

Hi, try just putting localhost:8096 in the browser address bar. Does that help?

Just tried it, redirects to http://localhost:8096/web/index.html, but same result, just the black screen and logo.

By the way, now my laptop does the same thing when trying to access.  The only thing that works at the moment on either machine is Emby Theater (tried loading and testing it after this started happening).

What browser are you using?

Are there browser console errors?

I've tested with multiple browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Edge.

I have not seen any browser errors that I'm aware of.

If I were to guess Emby is not redirecting properly for some reason as none of my urls show any *.html page.  Manually entering a direct html page redirects me.

http://localhost:8096/web/index.html to http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/home

http://localhost:8096/web/dashboard.html to http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/dashboard

Can you supply the contents of the browser debug console? Thanks.

sure, but you'll have to forgive me... not sure how to do that.

Hitting F12 will bring up the debug console.

Thanks... I'm guessing this is what you wanted.

Are you in incognito mode? Do you have any browser extensions installed?

Posted (edited)

No, just regular mode, and only extensions are LastPass, and uBlock Origin.  I haven't had issues in the past with them, but I tried it with uBlock disabled, same black screen.

UPDATE:  Just to try it, I turned ON Incognito... and it worked.
