Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Would have to look up the process but I thought a restart or disable/enable UPNP on the router should do the trick. You should not have to do a factory reset. But glad you got it working.

Maybe it would have worked, I honestly did not try it. when was told that it creates an unseen rule, I didn't want to take chances and figured I'd just do a complete reset to make sure nothing was left lingering. If I ever change computers again (which I hope not anytime soon) I'll try it. Maybe this can help someone else with a similar situation and perhaps they cold try it.

Carlo 4561 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Hi, I'm glad you got this working. But in the future the easiest method is to manually take over the port forwarding. This way you can set the destination machine on your network quite easily and be able to change which Emby Server (which notebook) gets packets routed to from the outside/remote. You could also setup the 2nd machine to use a different port this way and have both machines (if you wanted) available remotely.

I had a port forward before and it messed up other things I have running on that PC, so I was looking to see if there was a way to do it without. Glad it worked this, and it only took a few minutes, it faster to reset the router than setup a port forward (to me). But good to know it could possibly run on two pc's with that as an option if I need it in the future, didn't think it would be possible.
Carlo 4561 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 If you want to install TeamViewer on your PC I could do a remote session with you that would likely take less than 5 minutes and I could show you how to set this up, how easy it is to change the destination machine receiving the forwarding (which Emby server is remotely active) and/or how to set them both up for port forwarding (might take a couple more minutes) Let us know if you want to do this. Since everything is working now you can keep this in mind for the future in case you need to switch something around as well. Carlo

I will keep in mind in case I need this in the future, thanks! 1
