Hi,

I sometime get a Version field in media page. In this case, the dropdown menu reveals identical choices.

At the same page bottom section, it list 2 identical media infos section

Last a capture of the folder containing a single movie.

Can someone explain whats going on ?

Hi, that's strange. is there a button to split them apart?

Hi @Luke

Yes, I clicked and it popped a question I wasn't sure about, so I cancelled out.

Please note I had already checked properties, there was a single video file, a single audio track, and a single subtitle.

The "offending" file has since been replaced by one of better resolution.

For next time sake, I know to have a few more in my collection, but finding them is a needle in haystack.

How or why does this happens, according to you.

I would either try it, or remove the parent finder from the library, run a scan, then add it back.

This exact thing also happened to me during one of the beta builds back in July.

Happened to about 6 out of 13 items added on a single day. I could not detect a pattern at all, but it never happened again after that day.

So i'm guessing it was unique to whichever beta build I was using on that day, and looks like it may have crept into the stable now.

@Luke yes there is a 'Split Versions Apart' button - but it does nothing.

Ok then I would just  remove the parent folder from the library, run a scan, then add it back.

@Seanbuff Thanks for the pointer, I'll look for media added at similar dates

My original case was added to library a while back: 02/29/2016

I sorted the whole movie folder  by Date Added and the very first media (of at least 21) I checked in Emby comes up bearing the version button.

EDIT: I am batting 1.000, all 21 media checked have version issue.

I'll check a day before and after too and report back.

Indeed, all good now.

I still had to check other media acquired previous and after 02/29/2016 before being sure version button was all gone.

Turned out I had quite a bit more then a few of those movie version button.

I stopped counting at 70% and resolved to remove/recreate the whole movie library.

Oh one last thing,

I seem to have forgotten how other libraries show multi (4) covers, when I try to add a 2nd cover, it instead replaces the "first".

I don't understand, sorry? If you customize your own image, then yes that's what you get.

I thought Emby did that by itself, unless its a plugin?

Delete the current image and do a library scan.

The biggest lie of all: "Oh, one last thing" 😄

On those screenshots, newly recreated movie library show full network path, while all the rest show only mapped drive paths.

Which is more desirable ?

Personally UNC drive mappings - as they give you the maximum flexibility with no downsides.

If I have a share/UNC - I can move the share to any other drive as I see fit - and not have to re-scan everything.

If I add a drive, then the OS may decide to re-assign all my drive letters - but this will not impact the UNC share name.

Hi there, what exactly happened to you?

Same as OP,

I had a couple of movies file (no alternate versions of those movies) and it appeared on emby 2 times, but is just the same media, just repeated.
