spelled 1 Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Good afternoon. Previous to the latest update (Stable: v4.5.0.50 (2020/09/21) I was able to connect to emby externally and stream with no issues. . Nothing has changed on my side besides the update. currently, I am unable to connect anything outside my network (I am able to connect briefly if I restart the emby server app, but that only lasts for about 2 mins and doesn't always work) I have verified that port forwarding is correct, and DNS isn't an issue (tried my external ip address:8096). Internal connections have no issues connecting directly to the server webpage. I have noticed a few other posts in the windows forum with connection issues and I would like to get the previous version of the Emby installer just to verify it's the app. Can someone point me to the previous installer?
Luke 42085 Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Hi there, are you using a reverse proxy? What platform are you running emby server on?
spelled 1 Posted September 25, 2020 Author Posted September 25, 2020 Thanks for the quick reply. No reverse proxy, all resources on same server running Win 10.
spelled 1 Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 I do a reverse DNS....but I have already tested and that was not the issue. I have even removed the dns lookup service through my provider (noip.com) and it still remains an issue. Anyone know where I can find the installer to downgrade my version of emby?
spelled 1 Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 update, removed all reverse DNS software and issue still remains when accessing emby externally (direct ip). If I restart the emby service, the server is reachable for about 2-3 mins and then drops. I have uninstalled/reinstalled emby, re-configured the port forwarding, rebooted server, rebooted router all with same results.
Dizzy49 99 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I had similar issues a couple weeks ago. It ended up being my ISP's modem/router setup and routing.

Then freezes. When I hit the back button (or try to reload the main (top) menu), the server can no longer be found. To eliminate any routing issues, I have even moved the host to the DMZ and experience the same issue.

spelled 1 Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 Figured it couldn't hurt so instead of doing a soft reboot, I did a hard reset on my router. Re-applied port forwarding, and voila. 10 mins into a movie and no issues so far. It makes absolute no sense, and I guess happening the same time Emby was updated was a fluke. Go Figure. Thank you all for the troubleshooting. 1
