Emby is making a mess of my recorded TV shows' metadata

This doesn't happen on all my shows but I'm having trouble with shows I record from Nick and Nick Jr for my special needs boy.  They double up the episodes in a half hour and this is creating a problem.  MCEBuddy downloads the correct metadata for these paired episodes but once I put them in Emby they explode and all of a sudden the episode numbers are wrong and so are the titles.

IMDB has the correct episode information for these recordings but TVDB does not but I can't find a way to turn off TVDB for particular shows and there is no option at all for IMDB so now after refreshing my metadata everything is completely incorrect and I really don't want to spend an entire evening or two entering all this info by hand, especially since I fear Emby will just overwrite all my work at some point.

Any help would be apppreciated.

IMDB wants to much money to use their api so the odd of ever using them are slime to none, currently.  Your only options are TVDB, TMDB and OMDB.  But yes I would agreed for some shows that are different between providers, there should be a way per series to select specific providers.

There are other topic about this aired mixed season/episode number version vs the true sequential episode numbers.  I can see no easy way to handle known issue across dozens of shows.

Well, IMDB is the only one that has the correct info, If I had known this before I would have stripped these into individual episodes just as I do for Peppa Pig as there are usually 4 episodes together on Nick which is a lot of work actually because I have to look up the episode numbers and verify and manually name them as I edit out the commercials and into individual episodes.

When I try to edit the metadata of individual episodes under external IDs there is a place for IMDB's reference number but it does nothing if I enter the correct number, delete the TVDB number and save.....it just ends up with both fields empty after I refresh the metadata

The majority of these toons have this issue.

IMDB is used to query Emby's providers via that id as they add it to their index in some instances.  Has nothing to do with IMDB directly.  So in this instance where IMDB list one and other providers list two there will be a issue with that IMDB id.

Right, if moviedb or tvdb doesn't have that imdb on file, then you won't get any results.

They air this show constantly so there is no problem having all the episodes in a month or so, I'll just re-record the ones I already have and strip them into individual episodes like I will with all new ones now.  Not a huge deal now that I know.  The kids don't care.  I could just dump all the files into one folder and arbitrarily name them and they would watch them and not know the difference.....BUT......I'm a neat and organization freak so I can't let this sit.  LOL

Emby has  been perfect with all my DVD collection TV shows and I won't record anything but stuff for the kids now that I know the adult shows aired on these days of older TV shows are edited to add more commercials so you lose several minutes of content per episode so now I just buy the shows I want on DVD.  Considering the time to record, edit, and organize the price of the DVD sets are actually cheap....and they work perfect with good video quality, smaller file size, and the episodes are always correct.
