4.5.0.50 Update and Metadata

Hi Team,

 

I did the update from 4.4.3.0 to 4.5.0.5 and the metadata search is horrible now. It all of a sudden won't find any new TV/Anime/Movies series names or images. Even if I tried to manual search it just showed a blank screen, also typed in the correct code to manual search and nothing.

 

I had a look in the library settings to then find the option to select preferred metadata providers gone. I then tried to re-install metadata plugins and they just failed every time. I had to revert back to the older version and it went back to normal. Is this a new feature or am I missing something from the new update settings?

The preferred metadata providers is still there.  You have to turn on Show advanced settings though to see them

Ok, so I went and re-installed the latest version and still nothing, here's a screenshot of mine. It only gives me fanart selection but no more AniDB or TVDB to select from, same goes for my Movies and TV Shows library.

Here are the logs from the new install, I have checked again to make sure and 100% certain there is no where for me to select a preferred metadata provider anymore in the library settings, only image fetcher. Its the same for all 3 of my folders (anime/movies/tv)

Look like your system is having a permissions issue like others have on the the Synology data/programdata path.

I have no idea why but metadata links are broken for some unknown reason.... also Identify IMDB is not working anymore

I addes few images.... for some movies posters are there but they are not set as Primary.... also IMDB and other "movie databases" are gone

 

Maybe I done something wrong but I ahve no idea what!?

You do not have provider plugins installed (TMDB, OMDB, TVDB).

As the log shows Emby can not load them do to Persmissions issues that are affecting users differently.  As Luke commented there looks to be a  "one time upgrade to chmod it" coming soon.  You have to manually reset these permissions currently per the other linked topic discussing how to.

Emby and embysrv i think, now I added all permissions to them

 

for every drive/folder related to Emby

Not sure if your install completed correctly.  The new server install "should" have deleted the old embysrv account and left your with just the new emby user

hi, no problem is still there

 

I also noticed in pluggin section IMDB is missing  as happy mentioned above.

 

How i tested. I deleted images from 2 movies and one time I scanned the library, another time I checked and updated metadata both replace and missing images

Not saying you didn't, but the pic doesn't really show that you reloaded the new 4.6.0.1 because there was a second version with the same build number.  The second 4.6.0.1 was supposed to do a chmod on the data folder to fix permissions.   You could look at the folder permissions to see if it worked, but if you just redownloaded it again today then you should have the latest

I'm checking now libraries, for now problem is not fixed, but it is still on 90%

also yes for user Emby permissions were changed, I then enable access to another folder

just to yes if your dev, when there is new version then U add at least one number more... or V.2 at the end. then users know is it new or older version.

As it is shown on images below there is a timestamp when it was downloaded 

For one "standard" user who is not advanced, this is all little bit complicated
