JonFlynn 1 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) Recently had to switch computers and having problems with the emby server. Last time I installed emby it generated a folder/program in the start menu and automatically started when I turned my computer on. Now there is no program in the start menu so the only apparent way to access the server is to reinstall every time. Additionally since there is no program I can not add it as an exception to my VPN so remote access is not possible. Does anybody know how to solve these issues? Thanks! Solution jachin99 88 Posted September 24, 2020 Solution Posted September 24, 2020 Are you trying to start emby as a standard user or admin user in windows. I had the same issue where I logged into windows as a standard user and installed emby. I got an admin prompt when I ran emby setup and windows installed emby under that admin user. I had to copy emby to the standard users appdata folder and then add a shortcut for emby to the start folder in windows.
