Yes, i have get big problem, some video can play, some are not (playback error)
and My movie cover all gone, but all poster have in movie folder.
My server AMD Ryzen 9 3900 12-Core Processor, 24 cores and RAM 128GB

When I see this it is almost always a cache issue.  Have you tried clearing browser/device cache?

But a server log would probably provide more information.

I would say two different issues here as one would appear to image processing and the other a cache issue.

I think it's the same issue based on what he said and what I experienced on Android but it's possible to be part cache issue.

Let's see if this video helps you guys understand. And remember, the result is what I see on all devices.

I haven't looked. I posted a log in first post

this wont fix it but a couple of ideas to try to see what results you get

before you change the image in the video have you tried deleting it first - i have had a couple of blank images in the past - but TMDb related - and deleting the image suddenly made the proper image appear as it was too quick for a d/l - maybe a red herring but even if one does not appear it might allow the one you pick to appear properly - simple test

have you tried also deleting the cache folder under the programdata (i would do it with the server off) - it will force the server to regen the images as you browse - also might make the situation worse - but would kill off dodgy images - although they may come back if it is a skia/hwa issue on older hardware etc - does not look like you have much to lose at this point

I suspect lots more of these errors in the log as the first log is limited to what was shown in first post.

I'm only testing with one library, because I don't want to screw up the images that are correct.

I just tried deleting and then refetched the images. The same result. I'm not going to delete the cache, because I'm pretty certain that will break all images.

Is TMDB making more changes that breaks Emby?  URL links to File not Found

yep deleting the cache will give you the problem across all libraries

that image is coming back file not found - so maybe tmdb are playing again

just did a full refresh on a very small test library and not see any errors - but its probably only specific movies that they have done things to

@sooty123 could you give us a short list of movies to test just in case this is a tmdb issue?

not saying its not skia but might be two things at play here

I haven't tested a movie library, only a TV library.

Posted (edited)

On creating a test tv library, it worked correctly. Also a test movie library. So this is leading to one particular library. In this case, it's my recorded TV library. The one that is set in the DVR config....

ok then thats not skia related then as if it ws then the new test lib would have failed

if you copy over some of you recording library to the test library does the problem follow or not?

Copying a show from recorded to test library, works correctly.

I'm recording a show right now, but later when it's finished, I'll nuke the recording library, and remake it. Then I'll see if that corrects this.

i reinstall pc brower and test , get same result.

I running emby on ubuntu 18.04 server version.
i not seen like this before 4.3 , now i upgrade 4.5 , i have issue .

OK, well, I removed the series recording path from the DVR config, let the server rescan and remove the library. Then re-applied it, and let it re-scan (that took a while). That appears to have straightened it out. So I guess the upgrade to 4.5.0.5 screwed up that library, in some way.

The GPU shouldn't be used for anything other than a display output. As I already said, I built it that way. Emby has no business usurping it. Stop using it entirely!

It is a 3rd party library causing you this issue.  We're sorry it is a problem but we don't always have complete control over these things and, as Cayars pointed out, newer systems were fixed with this library update so backing it out causes problems for them.  We will try to find a solution but it isn't always so simple.

It appears to not have anything to do with the GPU, after all. The server upgrade seems to have broken the DVR library, and I had to remake it.

Just for others reading this topic, this user's issue is related to their media storage being unreachable, not due to the server update.
