moshmont 8 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) Is there a correct way to update a movie library that is a directory structure of .strm files that are pulled and converted from an m3u link? I have the code to create the directory of .strm files. What I need to know is, do I need to shut down the server? I would be replacing the whole directory structure. What I ended up doing is NOT stopping the server, I created the new directory at the same level with a different name, then renamed the directories, then had Emby scan the libraries. Is that the best way to do it or is there a better way? Thanks! Edited September 23, 2020 by moshmont
Luke 42083 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Hi, you should be able to just run a regular library scan. No need to shut down. 1
Carlo 4561 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I use STRM files a lot and just update them in place. I run on Windows and have my libraries use Real Time Monitoring (library option) and don't even have to run a library scan as Emby sees changed or new files and does it thing. 1
