Holtz 0 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Guys, good afternoon. I'm new to Emby but I have a little experience on other platforms. My question is regarding the media conversion of new files in the library. The scenario is as follows: I want all new episodes of a certain series / anime to be converted and replaced with the original as soon as it hits the folder. The problem I have is: 1) If the folder already has all the content already in the format I chose (mp4 / aac / 8Mbps) it shows a failure in the conversion panel. Doubt: Even if it is marked as a failure, if a new episode enters other than the standard I chose, will it be converted?
Carlo 4561 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 It should fail shouldn't it since it's already the correct format?

My question is with the new ones that come. If, for example, I already have 5 episodes already optimized and tomorrow I will launch a new one without optimization, when Sonar for example downloads it to the folder, will Emby recognize it as a new one and will start the conversion?
Carlo 4561 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 If you set it up for the library it should I'd think.
Q-Droid 989 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 It should convert the new ones. In my experience the automatic conversions show a status of Failed when the scheduled job runs but there's nothing for it to do.
Holtzmann 1 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I didn't wait for a new episode to come out to test, I ended up simulating a new file in the folder and everything worked as expected. Despite showing a flaw in the conversion dashboard, as soon as the new file was added, Emby did the conversion according to my choice. 1
