Pain 13 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Emby has a update but I do not see it in the synology yet. Do we wait till its available like normal? Edited September 22, 2020 by Pain
Pain 13 Posted September 22, 2020 Author Posted September 22, 2020 @Luke I seen that but still not clear on how to update it. Emby is not installed in a docker.
Luke 42077 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Have you explored the downloads -> NAS page?
Pain 13 Posted September 22, 2020 Author Posted September 22, 2020 Yes I did it's been so long I don't even remember how I installed it and it looks to be different now.

Pain 13 Posted September 22, 2020 Author Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) @Luke Can someone explain the update procedure? Edited September 22, 2020 by Pain

I'm going to update the download page to make it easier to determine which package to use depending on your model. 2

Pain 13 Posted September 22, 2020 Author Posted September 22, 2020 @Luke can I ask why the update had to be installed this way? Just curious is all and will this be the new norm? Thanks for the update!
Luke 42077 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 This is the new norm, at least until we're listed in the Synology app store and then you can use that. That's something we are simultaneously working on. But the sideload spk's will always be available for those who don't want to wait for release to go through the Synology review process, as well as those who test the beta builds. 1 1
flakie 11 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) Unfortunately it does not work on my old DS216+II (64-bit, Celeron). It installs okay, with no errors but will not start. Rebooted NAS and the same. Cannot find the log path. Get as far as: /var/packages/EmbyServer/target/ Then there is no var folder after .../target/ So cannot find: /var/packages/EmbyServer/target/var/logs. Need this up today so uninstalled and reinstalling older version from package center. Hopefully my backup with work for settings. UPDATE: Older 4.4.3.0 version back on and backup worked well. Now scanning all media folders. Would be great if there was a tool to back up these settings/database too. I tried: Uninstalling Emby, reinstalling 4.4.3.0 community version and then, before configuration, installing 4.5.0.50 - Did not work. Uninstalling Emby, reinstalling 4.4.3.0 community version and then, before configuration, installing beta 4.5.0.30 - Did not work. Uninstalling Emby, and then installing 4.5.0.50 without 4.4.3.0 - Did not work. Uninstalling Emby, and then installing beta 4.5.0.30 without 4.4.3.0 - Did not work. Everytime the install completes without errors. Emby starts for about 2 seconds (shows as running) and then stops. Could not find the logs in expected place and in a rush to get this running again so no time to search for them, Edited September 23, 2020 by flakie Updated info
