4.5.0.50 - password needed on localhost

I had to reboot my server, unrelated to this update - and it seems like once the machine came back up, I'm getting prompted for password from localhost.

I thought that wasn't supposed to happen?

Also, seeing a link to Emby Premier, even though I've been premier forever and a day. So long that I just might buy another just to support the great work you do!

Looks like a giant update from the changelog - so congrats on that.

Hi, Yes you always need to be signed in. I would use the forgot password feature to get squared away. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Luke! you replied before my ninja edit!

In the past, when logging in from localhost, I didn't need to enter the password (just the username) . I could swear that was supposed to be by design.

I tried a couple of different passwords and was able to login. So the browser saved one was probably out-dated.

Either way - congrats on the release. Time to dive in and see all the greatness.

Close this as solved.

If your browser cache is cleared you will see this until you login.

This would suggest a change in your user password lan access options.

Yes that was when the server used to allow blank passwords for admins, but no more.

Thank you both! Always appreciate the prompt and direct responses.

If you don't want to type in a password locally try this (you have to have a password set however):

You need a password? Mine is still working and I don't have a password since from the beginning. Both on iOS and webUI and Kodi. All on local network.

Thanks - I do want it to prompt on rest of lan, just would've been nice on the local host that Emby is running on.

No biggie, either way, I have no issue logging in. Was just surprised when I got prompted.
