mrees 6 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 A bit of a funny one here. For quite some time now I have been having an issue where Emby Server will crash approximately 60 seconds before the end of any catagory of file that matches 'movie'. This will happen on every movie without fail any anything (eg) classed as a movie ie: Music (retail) videos. TV shows play without issue and almost all media is being direct played (on a 2018? Nvidia Shield) I have attached logs in case anyone can help. I figured it may just be a small bug that would be fixed with a software update, but its been happening for 6-12 months now and so I thought I should log it here. Any help would be amazing. Thanks again embyserver.txt
Luke 42085 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 HI, what do you mean by server will crash?
mrees 6 Posted September 20, 2020 Author Posted September 20, 2020 (edited) Hi Luke, Sorry, I should have been clearer. Emby app on the server will crash. Going into windows (clock) task bar and right clicking the Emby Icon and restart wont fix the issue. I need to shut emby down completely and restart it (no reboot required). During this time (of crashed state), Emby is not able to be connected to by any clients. Edited September 20, 2020 by mrees
Luke 42085 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 @mrees have you updated to Emby Server 4.5? Are you still running into this?
mrees 6 Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 @Luke Ill test it more this week. Did you find a bug by chance? (and yes, running 4.5) Thanks for your reply
Luke 42085 Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I didn't find anything in particular, but a number of related areas have had improvements in 4.5 so I think it's worth re-evaluating from scratch. Thanks.
mrees 6 Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 No probs. Gimme a few days and I will report back either way. Thanks for the follow up. 1
mrees 6 Posted October 1, 2020 Author Posted October 1, 2020 @Luke Unfortunately the issue still persists....
Luke 42085 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 @mrees would you mind providing a server log example from 4.5.2? thanks.
mrees 6 Posted October 9, 2020 Author Posted October 9, 2020 Absolutely! Thanks for having a look It appears it DOESNT occur when using the web interface, but does on almost all other platformshardware_detection-63737861589.txtembyserver-63737861564.txtembyserver.txtunhandled_ef556a69-110f-4b88-8876-21c9e156702f.txt Please see attached
Luke 42085 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Remove the hue hood lighting plugin and you'll be good to go. @chef 1
chef 3810 Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 (edited) @Luke, judging by the logs, he is using the old Phillips hue plugin. @mrees, can you remove the old hue plugin and try the new version from the plugin catalog? Edited October 11, 2020 by chef 1
