Emby Connect won’t find my server

I am having multiple issues. 
 

I am running it on my laptop and have taken it on vacation with a firestick (hadn’t set it up before I left).

issue 1) app on the firestick cannot find the server despite being on the same network. 
 

Which leads to..

Issue 2) I have connected my emby connect account to my server, but when I log in on web or firestick I only see new server or add server. I cannot add the server manually with the IP address, because it says it cannot find it.

Hi.  That's also why Connect cannot find it.  For your server to be available (both locally and remotely) the network has to be configured properly to allow it.  Please see the article below and let us know how it goes.
