playlist - playqueue

Hi - I have emby server installed on a widows PC. I’m casting music to Google Home (And other compatible) speakers  I'm accessing/controlling the server using android and/or iPhone/iPads.  I can see all the speakers and speaker groups and I can see and play  all the music.  So far so good.

But, if I try to add a second album to the play queue – it doesn’t work.  Playback stops after the first album.   I also can’t find anyway of viewing the playqueue.

Then if I try to create a play list and add a couple of albums to that I have another set of problems.  I can make it work, but – I have a list of 243 items in the Playlist view.  They’re not playlists they’re albums.  The play list I’ve set up to try this out is there, but buried amongst 243 albums.

I’m hoping that you’re going to be able to tell me I’ve done something stupid, ‘cos it’s kind of unusable the way it is.

Best

OK - Have fixed Playlist issue by deleting all m3u files.  So now issues are:  I can add albums to playqueue and at the end of first album emby moves on to next album, but does not play unless I manually start it.  Also, stil cannot find a way of viewing playqueue.

Am looking at wnat is now playing.  But cannot see what other tracks/albums are in the playqueue.  Also, as I said, next album does not start automatically.

Also, while we're here - where is "stop" button?

Unless this is a client specific issue you have a stop on now playing bar and Now playing OSD.

OK - I have that page, but the playqueue panel on the right side is not present.  Everything else is the same, just no playqueue panel.  Have tried two Android devices and an iPad.  All the same.

Is there something I have to do to make it visible?

Hi. It might be collapsed or behind a button in portrait mode.  Have you looked in the "..." menu?  Or tried turning the iPad to landscape?

Tks, but.............. I was/am looking at it in landscape mode and there is nothing helpful behind the ... menu.  I've attached of Now Playing OSD - No play Queue panel & the menu that I see if i enter the "..." menu.

When you remote control another device we don't currently support manipulating the play queue but that will be coming soon.

So.... It's not realy a server is it? Because that's how client server architecture works.  Isn't it?  The data is held on the server and accessed/manipulated by the clients.  What you call other devices.

Well, technically it’s not and as/the system architect you should know that.  The “server” in my case is my PC.  What Emby purports to be is client/server control software.  But it would be more accurate to describe it as a media player.  Be any of this as it may, and I’m fully aware that you have the ability to take this entire thread down, I do note that you have been personally promising:  “we don't currently support manipulating the play queue but that will be coming soon” for at least 2 years.  Anyway, clearly it doesn’t work for me.  If I wanted a simple media player there are loads of better ones, so I’ll be signing off now. Ciao.

If you opened that same page in your browser on the device what do you see?  But yes every client/app may have different results.  But hey anyone can build there own app to there liking or be patient and allow the devs time to build and improve all the apps with there limited time.
