chromecast issue making transcoding temp folder explode

Hi there,

It happens often that chromecast players are stuck in some loop. Dashboard showing they are playing a video, time counter is going back and forth every few seconds.

In the meantime the transcoding temp folder is getting filled with temp files (over 20000+ files) and grows huge in size filling my 1tb ssd completely until there are 0 bytes left. 

What can be done to fix this?

hi Luke, thank you for your response.

I was running Emby behind a reverse proxy. Since a few days I'm not using the reverse proxy setup anymore, moved to a direct connection with SSL.

Maybe this was causing the issue, will monitor coming days/weeks to see if the issue will occur or not.

When you stop playback on the Chromecast, how are you doing that?

I am not using a chromecast myself. And I have no idea what my users are doing to stop playback. They probably pauze and/or power off the TV.

Even after a restarting emby the chromecast player (s) is/are visible as active.
