GregMo 24 Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Where would one begin debugging why it is that Emby repeatedly locks up when playing the next item of a playlist? This is on a Roku 3 and if I recall correctly, I read somewhere that someone faulted the second and third versions of the Roku with some issue that likely caused this but I can't find that now. I wanted to see if I could find it again to figure out how they determined this was an issue with the Roku itself, and not Emby, given that this problem doesn't happen with the Netflix or Amazon Prime apps on the Roku. I've attached my server log in case anyone is interested. The ffmpeg log hadn't been touched for several minutes prior so I didn't think it would help any. embyserver (2).txt
Luke 42083 Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Hi, if it was transcoding then yes please attach that ffmpeg log as well. thanks.
GregMo 24 Posted September 16, 2020 Author Posted September 16, 2020 No transcoding. It doesn't get that far. It will play around 3-5 titles and then stop while trying to load the next one. I'll attach it either way but there are several minutes between the last transcoding activity and it freezing up. ffmpeg-remux-257003ca-0701-43b7-b757-ca2f2b0444c2_1.txt
Luke 42083 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Can you please try removing these plugins: Playback Reporting 1.7.0.3 Statistics 2.0.16.0 Then restart the server and see if that helps. thanks.
GregMo 24 Posted September 16, 2020 Author Posted September 16, 2020 Sure thing. I'll give that a bit and see if it helps.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I would guess similar to this topic, and would suggest header data for the tracks. @speechles https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/75813-autoplay-next-episode-not-working-in-roku-app Does this only happen on your Roku? @GregMo
speechles 2055 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 (edited) @Happy2Play It is a fault in the Roku video player position reporting (Roku firmware 9.2.x and higher) when using HLS. I have fully debugged this. We should have a fix for this very soon. Netflix or Amazon do not use HLS thereby do not have the issue. Edited September 16, 2020 by speechles 1

Luke 42083 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 We're also about to release a new version of Emby Server so you could re-evaluate with that once available. Thanks.

Vert interested because it is a bit annoying to have to manually click next episode when using it to fall asleep.

Can you please confirm whether or not this is still an issue with Emby Server 4.5.1? Thanks.
JonFlynn 1 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Yes it is still an issue on 4.5.1. Not sure if it happens with all shows, but definitely some.
