EmbyUser32 0 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Hi I just joined the Emby community with the hopes of creating a media server for my small home. During initial testing i am however expiriencing some problems that i do not know how to deal with. Any help or advice is much appreciated. I am running emby (free version for now) on my main desktop machine. I am trying to stream a 1080p hevc movie using the mobile app onto my chromecast ultra on my LG oled smart tv. Subtitles are off. The movie will play for 20-90 seconds after which it will start stuttering, once it started it will continue to stutter and loose audio every 10 seconds. According to the server dashboard i am direct playing. I have tried looking at the logs, but unfortunately i am not the brightest of minds when it comes to that kind of stuff. I have attached 2 different logs in the hopes that anyone knows what is causing the stuttering. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions regarding this and i will be happy to reply however i am able. Thank you :) ffmpeg-remux-03793452-7baa-4dd2-bde1-be6f0d130313_1.txt ffmpeg-remux-a1e61ca7-c921-42f9-ac33-a2f88dd7b5c1_1.txt
rbjtech 5285 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Try playing with the 3rd (Stereo) Audio track before you cast - there appears to be errors in the conversation of the 7.1 AAC Audio. The file is a low bitrate (< 5 Mbit/sec) so I doubt it is your wifi - but it may be. Does your TV and phone have a strong wifi signal ?
EmbyUser32 0 Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 Would the log not say if emby was experiencing connectivity issues? I have tried streaming some 4k remuxes which played fine. So i guess it must just be the movie file that is corrupt? I tried playing it on my pc and i got some crazy stuttering as well. So i guess that is it. Thanks for your help though! ffmpeg-directstream-2cb6585f-022d-46ee-9dc1-96840abdf75a_1.txt
Luke 42086 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Hi, yes it could be something tricky about that file. You could try lowering the in app quality setting to force a full transcode and see if that helps.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 This error would suggest corrupt video stream. invalid as first byte of an EBML number
