TheGremlin 68 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I think I found a bug: I save everything of my Media inside the TV Show Folders. All Metadata (NFO Files), bif files, episode picture and Art (Poster(s), Logo, Banner, Thumb (Landscape)). There seems to be a problem with background / backdrop picture, downloaded via the scrapers. It don't add them into the TV Show Folder, if they are added via scraper. If I add it manually via the emby menu from my Computer, it will be added to the TV Show folder as "fanart.jpg/png". I think it should also be saved in the TV Show Folder if the Media is scraped from the Metadata Sources. I haven't check it on Movies yet. So I don't know if the same behavior also exist in this Librarys. Is it possible to fix this?
Luke 42089 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Quote I think it should also be saved in the TV Show Folder if the Media is scraped from the Metadata Sources. Hi, yes this is exactly what happens. Why do you feel that it doesn't? Can you please go over an example? Thanks.
TheGremlin 68 Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Hi Luke, I will try to provide you the next days a example. I would it do right now, but I have a backup with that I don't want to stop right now^^. It would be easier if I could just upload a short record of it as video. That way you could also see the folder structure of the TV Shows and settings inside emby and the library. I just have noticed, that the fanart file is missing in some of the TV Show Folders and could reproduce that it was the case, if the pictures are added manually and not via the scraper. Stay tuned after I can show you the example and thank you very much for looking into this.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Sorry I do not understand. This was from online providers. It is not possible to upload from UI and have the images go one place and online provider images go somewhere else.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I have a suspicion that it might be your tv library settings at play here and which server version you are using as we are very light on details
TheGremlin 68 Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Hi, Thanks for the fast response from all. I tried right now to reproduce the behavior and was not able to do it anymore. I have setup before a fresh and clean emby portable server (last stable version) for editing Metadata purpose, before I transfer my Mediafiles to my main server. I have used the latest stable version and updated it and tried it before 3 times, before I run into the forum to report it. The configuration of the server is very basic, because I use it just for metadata editing. I just have setup the library settings to store everything in the Media Folder. Also the Folder structure is very basic. I had added the Art with the "magnifying glass" from the Database providers. I use TMDb, TVDB and Fanart to collect my Art. Well, at my tests 2 hours ago, it has not saved the background, which is named "fanart.jpg" into the Media Folder. So I had it added manually, by pressing the "+" Button. This method it saved it. I have tested this behavior 3 times with 2 different TV Shows and it hadn't worked. Well I started right now to write down this and to make more screenshot, to reproduce it... and well... Now it works! I don't know why, because I haven't changed any Library settings, but the fanart.jpg appear in the Media Folder. I have tested it right now with 2 different TV Shows, and it to works ^^'. So I assume it was a false alarm by me. Sorry for the false alarm and thanks for the fast help and response. But I am also surprised and confused that it works right now...^^
