moshmont 8 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 I have found something interesting in how the TV Guide is updated. I am using Apollo Group TV, I know there have been a lot said about their guide as it is quite huge and I saw the posts about it using up all disk space when trying to update. I ran into this issue myself, I have 233GB of disk free and it fills up when the process of updating the EPG is only about 20% done. But when I download the file myself and point it at that, it doesn't use up any additional disk space. Is it possible that the update process re-reads the file many times and when the URL is used instead of a file, it must actually download the file again everytime?
Carlo 4561 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Hi, It's a process that is revamped in the new Live TV project underway so in the future this will be much better. For now check out xTeVe which can allow you to filter out your lists for just channels you want. You can also link the guide to the channels and these get filtered as well. End result is Emby get's much smaller channels via M3U and much smaller guide data via the XML file assuming you filter down the channels you want to use.
Luke 42080 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 We are looking into improving this. Thanks for reporting.
