Library folder change

If you add or move other folders to the new drive Emby will scan them and change entries as needed but the more you keep on the same path the faster the scan will be.'Emby Server will adjust regardless as long as the paths (new or old) are listed as mount points in each lib.

Yes thanks, I could just let Emby Server do it's thing. It just seemed from the earlier posts that there was a potentially easier way to just change the paths Emby server had for a given library. So as far as the server is concerned so to speak nothing has changed. Wanted to avoid  a complete rescan of the entire library. I have in the past has to do a lot of rearrange of librarys across a number of drives. Given the size of the libraries; the amount of scanning and time taken for Emby Server to 'adjust' seems needlessly excessive despite the fact that I have metadata stored locally in the folders. Any method I could apply to streamline that process and avoid the many hours of scanning etc is simply more efficient. Less server resources being used, less hard drive work, less potential disruption for family members who wish watch something on the server an so on. It would also make it much easier when considering  whether or not it is worth making major changes at a given time, and simplify the planning process to boot.

No matter. Thanks again for taking the time. I'll work it out eventually. Cheers. :)

Hi, Sorry to jump in on the end of this.

Have to move a large library to a new drive and would very much like to just update the paths etc as well.

Any chance someone could provide a step by step guide to do that?

Have got a hold of 'Database Browser Portable' if that helps. Happy to use another program if that makes it easier. (open source or freeware preferred though).

Running Win 10 Pro 2H1 64bit.

Any help would be Much Appreciated!

Has the new Drive path already been added to Emby?

If you have not made any changes yet you would shutdown Emby, move your media, manually update your database Path and Image columns.
