Can't access the server from outside local network

I am setting up another Windows bases server, but can't access it from outside the network.  My primary Windows server is working fine from outside the network.  I do have port forwarding setup for the primary server, but Asus router won't let me setup the new server in the port forwarding section....

I used to have a DDNS setup on my Asus router, but that quit working a quite awhile ago..  Now I am using port forwarding......... Damn, it is tough getting old, I am too old to get the network working again......

Edit: Even trying to sign in with Emby Connect does not work either.  I have 3 servers, and none will connect except the primary sever.

You will need to setup DIFFERENT ports for the 2nd server.  For example you could use 8097 & 8921

You would set those ports in the network section for REMOTE and then would setup port forwarding like:

WAN IP port 8097 to Internal Emby Server 2 IP Port 8096

WAN IP port 8921to Internal Emby Server 2 IP Port 8920

Just remember regardless of what port you put in REMOTE section of Emby networking, the server always listens on 8096 and 8920.  The ports you put in the REMOTE section of Networking are what ports are being forwarded on your router!

Thanks, I will give that a try.

I did the changes as you suggested, but when I clink on the second server, it connects to the primary server........

I will try shutting down the primary server.......

I shut down the primary server, now I get "connection failure."

That would mean you got the internal IP wrong for the port mapping.  Remember you'll have two different internal IPs since you have 2 Emby servers.  One IP for each server.

I used to have the DDNS setup so I did not have to port forward, but it stopped working and I forgot how to get it working again.  As I recall, when I had it setup, I can access all my security cams, etc. painlessly, no port forwarding, it just worked...... But too old to figure it out again.  Asus comes with a builtin DDNS and a VPN, and it worked great while it worked..

Well that certainly appears correct.

Does the remote URL look correct for both servers showing the correct ports (8096 and 8097 respectfully)?  No picture required since it will show your ext IP.

You could try a router reboot.

I could remote in with you if you like and take a look? Send me a PM if you want to do this.

I rebooted the router right away, did not help....... I also typed in the WAN address, still did not connect....

I am really trying to test the transcoding capability of my newest miniPC for transcoding.   I am leaving Sat for N.M for a week, and wanted to watch my live TV from my local channels.  My primary server (Vorke V2 miniPC) works OK, but does buffer some because it has to transcode the HD channels.  I don't understand my internet service provide, they give me over 200 Mbps down, but a lousy 11 Mbps upload..........

Anyway, I want to see how this new miniPC transcode.  (http://www.bee-link.com/portal.php?mod=view&aid=141)  using a Ryzen 5 3550H processor.

Personally I change both Local and Remote ports so there is absolutely no confusion.  But I have always only run 2 server on same machine.

Logged in via Teamviewer and changed the port to 8097 in network settings on the 2nd server to match the port forwarding and all is good now.

Probably was tested earlier and then switched to test something else but that was all that needed adjusting.  Everything else (the hard stuff) was already setup perfectly!

Curious, how/why on the same machine?

No particular need just testing.  With Windows I can have as many portables as I like.
