jasonmcroy 316 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I just input my comment on the HTPC Beginner article. 1
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 A huge review from a large Linux podcast. http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/87956/open-source-plex-alternative-las-383/ Starts at about 52 minuts in. 4
jasonmcroy 316 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 A huge review from a large Linux podcast. http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/87956/open-source-plex-alternative-las-383/ Starts at about 52 minuts in. Yeah, nice one! I just listened to it because of your post. Thanks, it was great to hear. 1
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I also just finished listening to it. That is a huge endorsement from Chris Fisher. He has been doing LAS since 2009-ish and he has been whole hog Plex for a couple of years now. To hear him say that he is ready to back Emby is huge. I would definitely expect this to bump the number of Linux users that are coming in. 2

legallink 187 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Interesting comments. Very positive and pretty in depth. The 2nd reviewer was far more positive than the first (not that the 1st was bad, but the 2nd basically said...PLEX= Hard < Emby = Easy). I was surprised at how much time they spent with the product. I thought the dissection of donation vs free features was interesting. It was a differentiator for them for plex as to what features were free vs donated...but not the donation structure.

LAS is really popular, this will definitely help adoption from the Linux/OSS crowd. 1
mediacowboy 438 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 How didn't this make bigger news or am I just late to the party.http://www.linux.com 2
AgileHumor 123 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Wow! Had no idea that Luke worked on the project full time. Also, I know Emby incorporated, but didn't know it had a staff. Neat!
ebr 16169 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Wow! Had no idea that Luke worked on the project full time. You just thought there were three of him...? 2

drakus72 17 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Just read the post at Linux.com and commented on FB page. Keep up the great work!!
AgileHumor 123 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I assumed he just didn't sleep. Still amazing progress...I see an update on Githyub every day.
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Interesting article. I find it good to know that Luke IS sleeping...I was really wondering about it.

ScottIsAFool 517 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 For those of us in the UK, Emby has been featured in this month's Linux Format (front page and everything!!) http://www.twitter.com/linuxformat/status/659460391404204036 2
kfonda 26 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 @@ScottIsAFool I just saw that article. It is really quite detailed and does a great job of expalaing a lot of what Emby can do. It should really help boost the number of users. You guys are doing a truly great job with this software. The Kodi plugin and the server make for the best all around media system I have ever seen.
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Watch the first seven minutes of this episode of the Linux Action Show. This guy's Emby rig is 100% awesome. Edited January 25, 2016 by thefirstofthe300 1

Carneth 12 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I make more personal recommendations to .. well .. everyone I know.. I've told half the people I know about Emby, with the other half commenting on my set-up.. Everyone first typically asks about the HTPC in my living room, (I'm using the OrigenAE S21T.. which is awesome, wish the touchscreen was better though).. And then everyone is typically blown away when I show them Emby.. Except one time when showing my boss and everything crashed.. great.. but hey, fixed the issue! All working fine now! Kind of an Emby Evangelist ... I'll be walking around knocking on people's doors next, trying to show them the light... 3
sh0rty 714 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 http://cordcutting.com/plex-vs-emby/ Comment also done. I hope the author will look again more closely to the Emby skills. 1
Luke 42077 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Thanks! I noticed he did his evaluation of server setup based on the Mac server, which currently we do have a few required setup steps for (something we can improve on). For windows though, it's pretty much just a matter of clicking Next through the setup wizard. 1
blade005 185 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 FYI. Emby mention in blog I ran across today. http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/home-theatre-media-center-software/
